Abstract

The vocational education of students with special educational needs (SEN) poses particular challenges, which is why it is extremely important to ensure that the appropriate institutions, educational formats, and special educational support are in place. Vocational teachers participating in dual training must have the qualifications specified by law, but special educational knowledge is not included in all training programs. Based on our research, vocational teachers are open to supporting SEN students, but they have little information about the types of disabilities and rely mainly on their own experience and that of their colleagues. They consider better information flow, prior preparation of students, and the creation of appropriate working conditions to be important for successful education.
