The concept of the „Szikrák Parent Training” is based on several years of practical experience developed at the 22nd District Branch of the Budapest Pedagogical Service.
It was specifically designed for the parents and close relatives of children aged 2 to 4 who show signs of language delay. Our goal is to support the communication behavior of parents and caregivers in a preventive manner and to help them develop the necessary competencies. As speech and language therapists, we consider it a fundamental professional principle that both diagnosis and therapy for children with symptoms of language delay should begin in a timely manner and always within the boundaries of professional competence.
The „Szikrák Parent Training” seeks to convey this approach and, at the same time, aims to support the everyday work of speech and language therapists who are involved in the care of children with language delays.
