This study aims to present the positive effects of musical training for children with dyslexia based upon a survey of the literature. The up-to-date researches show parallelism between music and language and wide transfer effect of music training programs. Studying music, playing an instrument can effect deep neurological changes in the brain and have an influence throughout the lifespan. Based on the literature, the development of rhythmic abilities and pitch discrimination are the main focuses of music training programs for helping the children with reading disabilities. A new way of the prevention and intervention of dyslexia could be music instrumental training programs which are complex activities demanding higher cognitive processes and result intensive improvement through the visual, auditive, sensory and motor processing.
