ll children included those with special needs and their families are receiving services according to their concrete special needs provided by the early childhood intervention system. Prevention and intervention services provided in the early years are of utmost importance both for the development of the child and the future of the society. The definition of the early childhood intervention’s theoretical framework, a summary of the international trends, the description of the structure of the Hungarian system and the present state of cooperation between the intersectoral actors are all contribute to the clear understanding of the elements of the institutional system developments. The Intersectoral Development of Early Childhood Intervention project is targeting the cross-sectoral improvement of early childhood intervention. It is built upon the international experience as well as previous research and developmental results and its main result will be the definition of a unified, clear and transparent “child-path” in the system.
