Abstract

The co-authors, who have been working together for nearly two decades, Judit Kovács and Éva Trentinné Benkő are professors of ELTE - TÓK. Their book, 'The World at Their Feet' was published in 2014. It is written in English, so it can easily count on the attention of international audience. The theme of the book is early institutional bilingual development. In the first section Judit Kovacs explains and summarizes the theoretical background of bilingualism in chronological order. Later in the second part Éva Trentinné Benkő focuses on the practical side of the subject, and presents a wide range of tasks. The dawn of this book review has a more personal aspect also. I was a student of both of the authors 10 years ago. Since then, I am also a practitioner in this field and I am truly convinced that early bilingual development has become a new discipline and deserves to be in the centre of attention. This volume has only strengthened my faith.
