Abstract

In this study I attempt to summarize the properties and attached phenomena of death concept in the kindergarten age group and their attitudes towards death based on discussions with children of 3-7 years of age and their parents. The parents were coming to psychological advice for better understanding of the discussed behavioural patterns or “symptoms”, or volunteered for an interview dealing with relations towards death since they felt they would be interested in the subject. The announcements of the children were either spontaneous statements, or were recorded upon parental reports or – in some cases – were observed during guided interviews upon the subject held after previous permission obtained from the parents.
