The method of drama pedagogy is becoming an organic part of Hungarian public education. One reason for that is it can be successfully used in every subject facilitating the holistic development of children, which is most important in the first four grades.
The aim of this paper is to examine and discuss how drama pedagogy is applicable in an early stage of teaching German as a foreign language, the so-called oral initial stage, in which students are still before the introduction of reading and writing. Activities that can be successfully used in the development of the language skills of the target group will be grouped by the three stages of drama sessions: warm-up, action and sum-up.
