Abstract

The bilingual education (Hungarian–English) in Százszorszép Kindergarten started 12 years ago. The successful and effective educational programme responds to the arguments against early childhood language education (or as we like to call it: spontaneous language acquisition), and reinforces the arguments in favour it. It shows the effectiveness of the method and gives assurance that the programme, which was consciously developed with the appropriate pedagogical foundations and incorporates all aspects of kindergarten life for 3–6 year olds, offers foreign language as part of the children’s personality development. All the while, not compromising their overall development. Far from it!
