Cooperation with families is one of the basic tasks of schools. This presumes that teachers are always well informed about the up-to-date characteristic features of the constantly changing families, which helps them to react properly to the consequences and outcomes of familial background of their students and can use it in the educational process. The study enumerates the most important features on getting to know the life and structures of families and gives a snapshot to the pedagogues about the basic knowledge on families – what an up-to-date and 'changing' family look like.
