A small group, animal-assisted therapeutic work in Bóbita kindergarten, Törökbálint

Abstract

It was a big step to create the facilities of the animal-assisted educational and therapeutic work in Bóbita kindergarten, Törökbálint. It was carried out with the support from the director; animal-assisted work is now part of the Educational Programme. In this text I summarise the outcomes of rabbit-assisted educational and therapeutic prework which was carried out with the help of the ’Rabbit-assisted educational development’ programme. As the gist of the text I summarise the most important experiences gained during the pilot program. Animal-assisted therapy is a possible treatment of anxiety deriving from burden of performance. We implement and adapt the tasks and devices to the animal-assisted therapy, worked out a possible structure of the animal-assisted therapeutic work.
