Abstract

Dictionaries are the first reference books children should learn to use at school. We should not underestimate the importance of dictionary skills because these skills transfer to the use of other reference books that students will use in their future studies to find information or undertake research. Students with proficient dictionary skills will find it easy to use different reference materials as they transition from primary school to secondary school, and university. Mastery of the dictionary should be an important part of their language skills. In this article, you can find exercises and activities to help you and your students to get the most out of your dictionary.
