Absztrakt
A Buddhāvataṃsaka-sūtra az egyik legjelentősebb Mahāyāna sūtra Kelet-Ázsiában, amely alapján a kínai buddhizmus egyik iskolája, a Huayan megalkotta sajátos tanításait. Ebben a cikkben bemutatjuk, hogy Kínában miként kezdődött el ennek a műnek az egzegetikai tanulmányozása a Dilun iskola tudós szerzetesei által, akik a Buddhāvataṃsaka-sūtra egyik fejezetét, a Daśabhūmika-sūtrát tanulmányozták Vasubandhu kommentárjának segítségével, és hogyan érte el a csúcspontját a Tang-kori mesterek által, akikek később a Huayan-iskola pátriákáiként tiszteltek.
