Two staff members and leaders of the National Pedagogical Assistance Service of Eötvös Loránd University (hereinafter: ELTE GYOPSZ) summarize their institutional experiences of the last more than ten years of condition assessment practice. The ELTE GYOPSZ, due to its unique tasks, provides services for the whole life span in public education and higher education, in line with the special teaching-psychological-medical model. The study attempts to discuss the main phenomena and dilemmas of the decade, the experience of a significant number of case management, the changes in legislation affecting the diagnostic and care system, from the assessment to the determination of entitlement to special treatment and disability, presenting the often-different approaches of the multi-stakeholder process.
