Abstract

The study is primarily aimed at the clarification of guidance and counselling in connection with the field of special needs education. A clear distinction can be drawn between the concepts of guidance and counselling by using Wiegersma’s model. We can understand helping situations, relationships, communications, and competencies in more detail by differentiating guidance and counselling. It also supports special needs education related activities as well as guidance and counselling for individuals with special needs. In addition to the generic implementation of the helping relationship and the helping role, special attention must be paid to the characteri stics of the clients in the field of special needs education. Acquiring basic communication skills provides a solid foundation for supportive conversation and special needs education counselling.
