Abstract

This study, looking back over the past hundred years or so, presents the main research findings on hearing impaired children’s intelligence testing. First of all, those that even today contribute to the most objective assessment of the hearing-impaired children’s intelligence nowadays. The author discusses how the changing of the population modifies the basic methodological principles and approach of cognition, and also, she reviews the most used assessment procedures in Hungary from the point of view of the discussed topic.
