Author Guidelines

The Publication Style of Modern Nyelvoktatás

Title Page

On a separate page, distinct from the main text, please provide the following information:

  • Author’s name: surname, first name
  • Author’s email address: preferably an institutional email address
  • Author’s affiliation: employer/university (full name of the university, full name of the faculty, [institute], department)
  • Author’s ORCID iD: required for all authors. An ORCID iD can be created at: https://orcid.org/register

Formatting Requirements

Modern Nyelvoktatás follows the APA 7th edition style (American Psychological Association, 1984/2019). For references with a DOI, the DOI must be included (e.g., https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110774375-007). Authors are requested to check that DOI information is included for all references for which a DOI is available, including older publications. The following website can be used to check DOI information: Crossref.

Guidance is available on formatting headings, tables and figures, as well as on in-text citations, references, and quotations. Further examples of APA 7th edition references are also available.

Information to be provided on the page following the author information

  • Title of the manuscript: in Hungarian and English

For manuscripts submitted to the Research Articles and Workshop sections:

  • Abstract and five keywords: in Hungarian and English

For Book Reviews, please provide the following information:

  • Author of the original work
  • Title
  • Place of publication
  • Publisher
  • Year of publication
  • Total number of pages
  • ISBN/ISSN

All works cited in the review must be included in the reference list (e.g., example review).

Manuscripts that do not comply with the formatting and referencing requirements will be returned to the authors for revision before the peer-review process begins.
