Absztrakt
This article seeks to identify the general patterns of societal integration among Chinese immigrants in Hungary based on quantitative research conducted by the author with the involvement of 167 participants. The author pays close attention to the complexity of the Chinese diaspora regarding general background information and three measurable aspects of integration: acculturation, placement and identification. Analysing the findings of this research, the author found that Chinese migrants in Hungary, while maintaining strong and active links with China, also display positive attitudes towards societal integration in Hungary. It also emerges that Chinese migrants show general interest towards the host society’s customs and culture, and many of them can speak or are willing to learn Hungarian. The findings of this research show that certain changes may have occurred in the Chinese diaspora in Hungary, which call for further research and new policies.
