This paper analyses the mathematics anxiety of students of a Bachelor in Pre-school or Primary School Education programs. The level of maths anxiety of 114 students was assessed at the beginning and at the end of the first semester of their study. Our results showed that their anxiety levels can both decrease and increase significantly in a short period of time. Taking into account the maths anxiety could play an important role in education. It is important to reduce the high level of anxiety, while strengthening the motivation of students with low or moderate level of anxiety.
