We attempt to outline the situation of Hungarian primary school teacher training along two main issues. First, we review the progress and experience of primary school teacher training in integrated higher education, and how the balance between higher education integration and the Bologna transformation can be summarized. In the second part of the paper, we touch on current questions / challenges
that require answers from both the teaching practice and the training side.
