2. Legislative context
The Privacy Policy of the journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ is based on the following legislative context:
REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 95/46/EC (GDPR).

The journal’s data processing complies with the above mentioned laws, respecting the principles of lawfulness, whereby the Data Controller will make every effort to ensure the protection of personal data.
The journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning ‘ processes data lawfully and fairly and in a transparent manner for the data subject. The Journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ does not and shall not use the personal data of its data subjects for purposes other than those described in this policy document. The journal of ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ shall process only the data provided by the data subject voluntarily or otherwise lawfully made known to it and shall not disclose them to third parties under any circumstances, except in the cases provided for by the legislation in force. The transfer of personal data may only take place in accordance with the relevant legal provisions to this effect or with the express and voluntary consent of the data subject, to the extent specified therein.
3. The purpose of data processing by the journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’
The journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ processes data for the purposes of publishing the journal (which includes producing and editing content) and maintaining its website.
4. Data processing. Categories of personal data and duration of data processing.
Data of subscribers, authors, and partners involved in publishing the journal are controlled by the editor-of- chief of the journal.
The journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ processes only the personal data indispensable and suitable to achieve the purpose of the data processing, and only to the extent and for the duration strictly necessary to achieve the purpose of the data processing. The journal ‘Teacher Education and Learning’ shall ensure the confidentiality and the protection of personal data from unauthorized persons, in compliance with the provisions of Article 32 of the GDPR, as follows:
- it shall ensure the continued confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience of the systems and services used to process personal data;
- it shall ensure the ability to restore access to and availability of personal data in a timely manner in the event of a physical or technical incident;
- It shall regularly test and evaluate the effectiveness of the technical and organisational measures taken with a view to ensuring the security of data processing.
- It shall ensure that natural persons acting under its authority and having access to personal data are allowed to process those data only in accordance with the instructions of the Data Controller, unless they are required to do otherwise by Union or Member State law. Data Controller(s) shall only grant natural persons access to personal data if they have read and acknowledged in writing the knowledge and acceptance of this privacy policy document.
4.1 Processing the data of authors
Manuscripts may be freely submitted for publication. Manuscript submission requires prior registration at http://ojs.elte.hu/pedagoguskepzes.
To register, authors must provide the following data: name (first and last name), country, e-mail address, username, password.
When authors submit manuscripts for publication, at the time of the registration they agree in writing to the processing of their personal data and to the publication of the following of their personal data (hereinafter referred to as author's personal data):
- author name
- title, academic degree (if any)
- position, job title ( if relevant)
- affiliation (name of the workplace)
- e-mail address.
The author's personal data will then be made public via the Internet on condition the publication is accepted by the editors. The archived issues of the journal are available free of charge at http://ojs.elte.hu/pedagoguskepzes; therefore, the author’s personal data provided in published issues of the journal will remain available in the archives indefinitely. In addition, the authorship data of published works will be transmitted to accepted content providers in the scientific community, which will index and share scientific publications. When registering, the author gives written consent to this transfer of data.
Legal basis for data processing: the author's voluntary consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation.
Duration of data processing: the authors’ personal data are kept in the journal's archives indefinitely. The authors have the right to withdraw their consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing based on consent prior to its withdrawal. Authors may withdraw their consent by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address of the Data Controller.
4.2 Data provided in the profile created during registration
Registration takes place at http://ojs.elte.hu/pedagoguskepzes; providing personal data during registration is voluntary. The following data may be entered in the profile of the registering author/subscriber: name (first and last name), country, e-mail address, username, password, telephone number, postal address, biographical data, namely: workplace, short CV (100 words). No automated decision-making and profiling is performed during registration.

5. Rights of the data subjects with regard to data processing
Data subjects may request information on the processing of their personal data, as well as request access to, rectification, modification, or erasure of their personal data or the restriction of processing of their personal data by submitting a written request to pedagoguskepzesfolyoirat@gmail.com.
At the request of the data subject, the Controller shall provide information about the data it processes, the purposes, legal basis and duration of the processing, the name, address (registered office) and activities of the data processor in relation to the processing, and about the persons who are receiving or have received the data and for what purposes. The Controller shall provide the information in writing within the shortest possible time from the date of the submission of the request, but not later than 25 days.
The Controller shall erase the personal data if the processing is unlawful, or the data subject requests it, or the purpose of the processing has ceased, or the statutory period for storing the data has expired, or the erasure of the data has been ordered by law, an EU legal act, the Authority or a court. In the above cases, the Controller shall take all the steps that can reasonably be expected, including technical measures, taking into account the available technology and the cost of implementation, to inform the controllers who process the data that the data subject has requested the deletion of the links to or copies of the personal data in question.
If the data subjects do not agree with the information provided in response to their request or the Controller’s decision regarding their request, or if the Controller does not provide a statement within the above specified time frame, data subjects have the right to take the matter to court. Further legal remedies can be sought and complaints may be lodged with the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information:
