Abstract

The study examines the relationship between physical activity and cognitive abilities in the context of primary school education. The analysis highlights that regular physical activity positively impacts not only motor skills but also cognitive and emotional development. Various age groups and intervention methods were analyzed, including short classroom movement breaks, active lessons, and increasing the number of physical education classes. The literature review revealed that physical activity stimulates cerebral blood flow, enhances attention capacity, and improves academic performance, particularly among the 7–12 age group. The research also emphasizes that the effectiveness of different intervention durations varies, with longer programs generally yielding more lasting results. The findings support that integrating physical activity into the educational system can promote the cognitive abilities development of children. The study does not analyze intervention methods, but rather reviews the professional articles published on these methods that examine the relationship between physical activity and cognitive abilities. The aim of the research is to provide an overview of the role of physical activity in education based on studies conducted with different age groups, paying particular attention to the methods used and their effectiveness. Future research aims to identify the most effective intervention strategies, with a special focus on age-specific needs and the application of technological tools in education.
