About the Journal

The Education Sciences | Education – Research – Innovation online journal was launched in 2013 by Professor Ágnes Vámos and her colleagues. It is published by the ELTE Faculty of Education and Psychology, and the Faculty's Institute of Education hosts it.

The journal has two major sections. The Studies section comprises three subsections. The Beyond the Borders subsection features internationally published articles in various languages, as well as articles on current topics within the international scientific community. The In Focus subsection showcases thematically related studies and new research findings that are particularly intriguing from the education sciences' standpoint, occasionally featuring commissioned authors/guest editors. The Overview subsection awaits authors who want to publish their new scholarly research findings.

Studies submitted will be assessed by double anonymous peer review.

The Reviews section has five subsections: the Current Times subsection is for reviews of new national and international publications, the Critical Questions subsection is for critiques of the scholarly literature of a particular topic, the Reassessed subsection presents older publications present day reading can be found, and the Perspectives subsection shows different authors' opinions on one publication. In the Reviews section, a journal review is also possible.

Authors

The journal welcomes articles from a diverse range of authors, including those from education sciences, joint and related sciences, Hungarian and international researchers, and individuals pursuing education science, as well as those who value quality education and are educators or innovators. The journal's issues are published with an English table of contents, a summary of the contents, and authors' introductions.

Manuscripts

The journal aims to publish original, unpublished manuscripts not submitted for review or publication in other journals. For more information on article submission and publication, please see the For the Authors files! The author's statement can be found there, and by sending the manuscript alongside it, the authors automatically accept its conditions. The publisher does not charge authors a fee for reviewing submitted works or for publishing accepted works.

The authors retain their copyright over the article, but in the case of republishing, the first publication's bibliography data has to be stated. The journal permits the authors, without time limitations and fee charges, to share the accepted manuscripts' pre-print versions, even if they contain the suggested corrections (in e-mail or on the author's institute's website or the author's institute's or university's closed or unrestricted repository, or non-profit servers). When sharing their work this way, the author has to inform their readers that the article is not the final, printed version and that the final version will be published in Education Sciences. The author can use the post-print version if the article's final version has been published. In this case, the precise publication place and data must be given.

The journal is a Gold Open Access periodical. Documents can be freely downloaded and duplicated in an electronic format and used unchanged and with due reference to the source. Such use must not serve commercial purposes. In the case of any form of dissemination and use, the Hungarian Copyright Act LXXVI/1999 and related laws are to be observed. The electronic version of the journal is subject to the regulations of CC BY-NC-ND (Creative Commons – Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives).
