Abstract

This publication presents Terence’s Adelphoe in a Hungarian translation by Éva Tordai, with an introduction and notes by Attila Ferenczi. The aim is to convey the linguistic and dramaturgical richness of Roman comedy, while the introduction discusses the play’s structural and thematic features as well as its ancient and modern reception. The notes provide historical, social, and cultural context, facilitating a deeper understanding of classical comedy for contemporary readers.
