Abstract

Language cultivation within the radio is part of Hungarian culture and also shapes how we think about our language. In the last hundred years, it has been defined by many trends and approaches. However, its meaning can be found in letters that are sent to the editorial staff by the large number of listeners. I found it worthwhile to carry out a research on a cross-section, from which I create a profile of the letter writers, the typification of their questions and comments, and also about their language attitudes. My goal is to outline the sociological profile of those interested in language cultivation in the radio, as well as their attitude towards their mother tongue.
