Act XXX of 1921 on ensuring the fulfilment of compulsory education and the practice of compulsory education in Baranya

Abstract

The focus of this study is on Act XXX of 1921 on the fulfilment of the compulsory education. The primary research question is the impact of children’s work in the family on the completion of the obligation to attend school. To examine the legal framework and its impact on everyday life, the documents of the School Inspectorate of Pécs and Baranya County in the National Archives of Hungary Baranya County Archives are the basis. Accordingly, the study aims to analyse the legislation and to reveal the Baranya practice based on it.
