Is Phraseme Construction a relevant category in Hungarian?

In the present paper, we seek to answer the question whether the study of so-called Phraseme Constructions (PhraCon), which is increasingly coming to the fore in international phraseological research, can be relevant to the Hungarian language as well. Accordingly, as a first step, a review of the international literature on, and a detailed description of the characteristics of, PhraCon are necessary. According to the first German definition, a PhraCon is defined as a construction which, in its stable syntactic structure, contains lexically bound elements as well as slots to be filled in and which has a lexicalised meaning as a whole. The second part of the paper aims to examine similar categories that can be found in the Hungarian phraseological literature, focusing on the classification of phraseology and the analysis of examples in Hungarian. Based on the results of the analysis, the paper presents a new phraseological category and at the same time a new and relevant research perspective in the field of Hungarian phraseology.
