Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General Guidelines

  • Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published elsewhere—either in print or electronically—nor currently under review for possible publication elsewhere.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in one Microsoft Word document to the following e-mail address: cltcee@btk.elte.hu.
  • The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

1.Title, author names and affiliations, ORCD iD

  1. Abstract and keywords
  2. Main text (with tables and figures)
  3. Appendices (if relevant)
  4. Bibliography
  • As papers are double-blind peer reviewed, the main text file should not include any information that might identify the authors.
  • The length of manuscripts should be 12–25 pages (if different, consultation with the editors is required). The document should be formatted as follows: paper size A4, margins 2.5, line width 1.5, font Times New Roman (MingLiu for Chinese characters), and font size 12 in the main text and 10 in footnotes.
  • Please consult the Style Guide before you submit your paper.

Language

The journal publishes articles in both English and Chinese. Please use British English and simplified characters.

Authors writing in their non-native language are advised to have their articles thoroughly copyedited by professionals with native-level proficiency in the article’s language prior to submission.

Abstract

Each manuscript submitted to the journal should begin with an abstract and 8–10 keywords in both English and Chinese, beginning with the language in which the article is written. Each abstract should be 1/4 to 1/2 page in length.

The abstract should be written as a single paragraph without indentation, and it should provide a detailed introduction of the paper's topic, outline the methodological framework, and include the keywords (i.e., keywords also appear in the abstract, not only in the separate list).

Keywords should be separated by a comma. Unless a keyword includes a proper noun, only the first letter in the first keyword should be capitalized.

The rules detailed below must be accepted by authors submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Chinese Language Teaching in Central and Eastern Europe 中东欧中文教育杂志.

  1. By sending an article to the Journal, authors confirm that the article is their own original intellectual product and that no rights of a third party are harmed by the publication. In case of any claim by a third party, authors take full responsibility including any financial consequences.
  2. Authors’ name(s), ORCID ID, and their institutional affiliation are made available in the printed issue and on the website (in the format agreed in advance).
  3. Authors are allowed to distribute their article in the same version as the one published in the journal by acknowledging this as initial publication. Authors are free to share their work on online platforms.
  4. The copyright of articles published in the journal remains with the author. The journal has the right of first publication. The published work is licensed under Creative Commons License “Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International" (CC BY-NC 4.0). This means that copying, redistribution, remixing, transformation and building upon the published work is allowed for any purpose except commercial purposes as long as proper credit is given to the author, a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.
  5. Articles published in the journal are archived in the Digital Institutional Repository (EDIT) of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). This repository provides storage for documents and archives related to the institution, enabling users to search and browse in collections within certain categories.
