QUALITY OF LIFE RESEARCH IN URBAN AREAS

Abstract

Nowadays, quality of life is a popular research topic. It is a multidisciplinary theme, so it hasn’t got a current definition, but in this study I try to give an overview the framework of quality of life, and other social indicators. Quality of life is so popular, because it is a relevant political goal in almost every territorial level. In this study I present many different and famous indicators from global to urban level. Indices have got common points, like e.g. wealth, education, environmental conditions, work, security etc. This essay mainly theoretical and recapitulative, my own research result is in the last chapter in connection with Budapest territorial inequalities in the objective quality of life. The main changing between 2001-2011 is, that Buda become mosaical. In Pest’s districts has got several changing too. It is standing out a fault line in Pest in the quality life and South-Pest has got a massive wrong status, but for example urban regeneration and recycling of brown fields good opportunities to increase the urban quality of life.
