This article analyzes painted wooden bird statues from the Egyptian Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, focusing on their object history, iconography, and typology. The authors examine the formal and technical features, painting style, and the ritual and funerary context of these objects, shedding light on the symbolic role of birds and their cultic significance. The study enhances our understanding not only of the specific items but also of a lesser-known type within ancient Egyptian funerary sculpture.
