A tanulmány az ókori egyiptomi Bucheum temető 13-as számú sztéléjét elemzi, amely a Kr. e. 1. és Kr. u. 1. század fordulójára datálható, és a kosfejű isten, Buhisz kultuszához kapcsolódik. A szerző filológiai és ikonográfiai vizsgálat révén bemutatja, hogyan tükröződik a ba-lelket az égbe emelkedni láttató formula az adott korszak vallási gyakorlatában és halottkultuszában. A tanulmány új szempontokat kínál a sztélé értelmezéséhez, különösen a szöveg szimbolikus nyelvezete és a kultusz regionális jelentősége szempontjából.
