A tanulmány a Bernardini-sír híres ezüsttálján ábrázolt jelenet mitikus és narratív értelmezését kínálja. A szerzők az ikonográfiai és formai vizsgálat mellett a jelenet lehetséges történeti és rituális kontextusát is elemzik. Értelmezésük szerint a jelenet nem csupán egy általános vadászatot ábrázol, hanem egy konkrét mitikus történetet, amelynek szereplői azonosíthatók a görög mitológia alakjaival. A kompozíció sajátosságai és a vadászmotívum hangsúlyos jelenléte alapján a szerzők amellett érvelnek, hogy a tál narratívája a hősi erény, a természettel való küzdelem és a rendteremtés ideáját jeleníti meg. A tanulmány új szempontokat kínál a keleti és görög kulturális motívumok találkozásának értelmezéséhez az archaikus művészetben.
