Cato önreprezentációja és politikai fellépése a Catilina-összeesküvés ügyében

A tanulmány az ifjabb Cato politikai önreprezentációját vizsgálja a Catilina-összeesküvés kapcsán, különös tekintettel Sallustius Bellum Catilinae című művének Cato-beszédére. A szerző azt elemzi, hogyan alakítja Cato saját identitását a res publica védelmezőjeként, és milyen retorikai eszközöket használ az állam érdekeinek képviseletére. A tanulmány rámutat, hogy a cicerói és sallustiusi ábrázolás egyaránt kulcsszerepet játszik Cato politikai karakterének utóéletében, valamint hogy e szövegek jelentős mértékben járulnak hozzá a római köztársaság végnapjainak értelmezéséhez.
