In a response, Professor Petőfi declared his basic research approach to be slightly Platonian. With his well-known semiotic textology, the Vehiculumstructure–Relatumstructure model, the professor sought to create an interpretive framework of text semiotics independent of the language(s) within the semiotic theory of human communication. The paper quotes the efforts into completeness and explicitness in Petőfi’s works (Petőfi 1996, 2004, 2008), the related thoughts in his interviews (Danyi 1984, Andor 2007), also referring to the words of his contemporaries (Dobi 2011, Békési 2013).
