The purpose of this article is to observe how Peruvian writer Edgardo Rivera Martínez treats the theme of identity in his story “Angel de Ocongate” through the creation of an angel, mythological being pertaining to the Western Christian tradition. This analysis is based on an approach that reveals the protagonist's personality and his subjective perspective on life.
