Perspectives on a Cruel World: (Micro)Cosmic Gazes in the Work of Esther Andradi

The texts published by the Argentinean writer Esther Andradi cover a diversity of narrative, poetic and journalistic genres; in this paper, I propose to analyze the presence of affects in Microcósmicas (2015). The specific axis of his approach is constituted by the relationships between everyday life, the microuniverse where the role of women is highlighted, and the macrocosm, marked by the deterioration of human action. The texts incorporate a critical perspective on power relations, patriarchy, dictatorships and the politics of capitalism. The border writing of migration allows a gaze that fluctuates between the layers of the existing, that moves between spaces and times, that recovers affective nuclei to project them towards a vision of the present and the future, between apocalypse and hope.
