The 17th issue of Lejana. Revista Crítica de Narrativa Breve has proposed to invite the academic community to investigate the various literary manifestations that in recent years have emerged around the concept of autofiction and its development in Spanish language short fiction. So far, this issue has received little critical attention, but it has been widely developed in terms of the novelistic genre. Hence, the objectives of the dossier “Self-figuration: Autofiction in Spanish Short Fiction” have been, on the one hand, to generate theoretical-critical reflections on the proposed topic, and on the other, to carry out studies on autofiction in short literary works (from micro-textualities to the nouvelle), written in Spanish in the 20th and 21st centuries. This text contains the presentation of the research articles that make up the dossier.
