First canon is defined and the process of its establishment is described. Then a few canonical authors from Central America are mentioned, among others Sergio Ramírez and Gioconda Belli, to pass on right to all those who are usually left “outside the canon”: feminist writers, the generation “X”, the group of Marco Antonio Flores, as well as fiction written by women, works of indigenous authors and posthumous literature. Finally general features, styles, themes and motifs are identified.
