La ciudad muerta. Por qué no me casé con Francinette (1911) from the peruvian narrator, poet, essayist, dramatist and draftsman Abraham Valdelomar Pinto (1888-1919); proposes the analysis of the novel as an artist’s novel in modernism context, as a reflection of the artist´s conscious denial to fulfill his creative artistic longing. Being impossible to accept the risk and commitment required to achieve it, momentum that only exceeded when it induces the disappearance of a substitute.Valdelomar was a controversial writer in his time. Located between late modernism and the beginning of avantgarde he is recently recognized as an innovative and Pioner writer of the best achievements of Peruvian literature.
