Abstract

The essay aims to highlight the evolution of women’s writing in the South between the second half of the 20th century and the 2000s through the paradigmatic cases of two women writers: Goliarda Sapienza (L'arte della gioia, 1998) and Sonia Serazzi (Non c'è niente a
Simbari Crichi, 2004, Il cielo comincia dal basso, 2018). Their novels seem to be emblematic of this evolution of women’s writing, despite the vastness and variety of narrative works that can be traced back to the literature of the South.
