50 or 70 years? The short story of the largest civilian mapping company in Hungary

Abstract

A short history of Cartographia Company, the most significant company of Hungarian civil cartography, established in 1954. The article provides an overview of the periods of state ownership, privatization and beyond, the company's growth, its best years, its transformation after the change of regime, along with the consequences of its privatization.
