Abstract

This paper introduces a Sarmatian settlement detail dating to the 2nd–3rd century which came to light during the excavations preceding the laying of a gas pipe. The relatively rich Roman archaeological material contributes new data to our knowledge about particular object types and their occurrence in the Barbaricum (amphora, stamped ware, Pannonian grey ware). Beside the traditional archaeological dating methods, radiocarbon dating of the find material was also executed. These latter results comprise the first, tentative data sequence of this type in relation with Sarmatian settlements of the Great Hungarian Plain.
