Abstract

The circular church located in Horyani (UA, Hungarian name Gerény), part of Uzhhorod has been in focus of serious debates for a long time. The excavations carried out a long time ago have not provided sufficient results or remained unpublished. The research, which started in 2007 and lasted for seven seasons finally clarified the chronology of the church and fixed its construction time to the turn of the 14th century. Somewhat later the church was surrounded by a stone wall, which incorporated a stone building.
