Abstract
The town of Vinkovci is situated in Slavonia, eastern Croatia, upon the site of the former Roman town of Cibalae. In 2009 on the Glagoljaška Street 16 site, archaeological excavations were carried out, which resulted in the discovery of architectural remains and small finds, ranging from prehistoric to modern age. The pit isolated and analyzed in this paper (SU 19/20), in the Late Roman layer, is one of the rare enclosed units in a usually devastated layer. Special emphasis is put on the pottery fragments that belong to the 5th and 6th century AD and can be linked to Germanic peoples in this area. The pit could have been used for waste disposal and most likely belongs to the Late Roman building nearby.
