Abstract

The paper presents the study of the finds and features uncovered at the Middle Copper Age (MCA) site of Gelej-
Huszty-Arkay-dűlő in 1994. The site yielded characteristic material of the Hunyadihalom culture, and the structure of this low-intensity, hamlet-like settlement consisting of only a few pits matches what was recorded on most sites of the culture. The study includes the typological and functional analysis of 4,128 pottery fragments, the techno-typological evaluation of 74 knapped stones, and the assessment of 898 pieces of daub. The results made it possible to reconstruct several aspects of past household activities, and to outline a detailed picture of the everyday life of this small MCA community.
