Abstract

In 1948 the central government finally decided on the farms should be abolished, the in­habitants must be moved into bigger settlements. The process of implementing was organized by the Council of Farms in January 1949.

It happened in the town Hódmezővásárhely as well. Place of prospective farm villages were marked off 7-10 km far from the town. Farm villages are so called small settle­ments located in neighbourhood of towns, where inhabitants of farms have been moved because their farms had been tearing down. Their structure is a uniform approach, based on the survey was preceded. The majority of studies have found about the Hódmezővásárhely Archives collection.
