STUDY ON THE GENERAL AND SPECIFIC PROCESSES IN EDUCATION IN OROSHÁZA DISTRICT
Abstract
In this paper we undertook to explore through educational geographycal analyses the interaction appearing in the social-economical spacial structure of one district in the region of the Great Hungarian Plain. Namely, we are convinced that education is the determinative agent and organic element of the territorial and urban development. Nowadays the public benefit of education is clear because it contributes jointly and severally to the inclusive development of the society as well as to economical competitiveness.Furthermore we would like to point out the general load on the educational system and through the characteristics of Orosháza district to particular problems. We especially focus on the social status of the families which in Hungary influences decisivelly the effectiveness of the students and schools, it determines the school choice. We analyse the significant territorial inequalities of the education system and the causes and results of the differences occured in the settlemets’ hierarchy level. Naturally our analysis is not done statically but by presenting the interrelationships which emerged. Our pursuit is to draw attention to breakpoints which can significantly influence development, what is more bear the risk of irreversible changes. Due to the disciplinary nature of geography education the research was done with the help of parameterising and sociological methods.
