THE TANYA-QUESTION TODAY
Abstract
The tanya-question or tanya-problem started with the discover of the social problems in the tanya–system of Hungary at the end of 20th century. The tanya is a special type of scattered settlement of the Great Hungarian Plain. I can divide these questions into two groups. In the first group there are the social questions connecting with public administration, culture, health system ,etc. The state have to deal and solve these problems. In the other group there are the scientific questions, which are partly unsolved. The present scientific view can change in these questions in the future. We can highlight the next questions:
- The definition of tanya
- The origin of tanya-system
- The historic changes in tanya-system
- The correlation between tanya and central settlement
- Connections between tanya system and agriculture
- The future of tanya-system. It can be a new renaissance? Which are the influential factors?
Because there are new processes connecting with tanya system (suburbanization, appearance of new farms, differentiation in tanya-system, etc,.), the researchers have to deal with the tanya-system again.
