EVOLUTIVE AND IMPEDIMENTAL FACTORS IN SMALL VILLAGES FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THEIR MAYORS
Abstract
This publication applied interviews in small villages. The exploring spot are 15 small villages in Hungary (Alsómocsolád, Apátistvánfalva, Csonkahegyhát, Dozmat, Dörgicse, Dunaszentmiklós, Fertőhomok, Fony, Gosztola, Hegymagas, Klárafalva, Romonya, Szántód, Tivadar, Villánykövesd). We searched for the evolutive and the impedimental factors in these small villages. The research had the following questions:
– personality of mayors, attitude of mind?
– conflicts in the settlement?
– living conditions?
– tenders of settlements?
– activity of inhabitants, institutions?
– touristic factors of settlements?
– advanced state of researched settlements in their surroundings?
The mayors and the local opinion multipliers put a premium on the activity of mayors, the conflict-free settlement, and the low unemployment rate. Above all are also the winner tenders, the institutions in the settlements, the attendance of minorities important, and make the best of tourism is important, too. Regarding the research results we suggest to the experts of regional development to involve the members of the local inhabitants and the opinion multipliers in the preparation for decision-making and development strategies. We also suggest to examine all the characteristics of settlements (social, economic, supply, infrastructure, transport relations, tourism facilities, etc.). It is also recommended to develop not only the strength (strengths), but also the factors with the worst values and impedimental factors (which can be developed), to overlayed on path of development.
