Abstract

In recent years, the issue of regional/rural development has also become increasingly
important in our country. Looking at the issue at the landscape level, the success of
development can only be achieved if we take into account the economic, social, cultural and
ecological factors of a given region and develop them simultaneously, with a proper
understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. However, a complex approach is essential
if this is to be properly implemented. The positive development and transformation of an
area can only be achieved if we know its habitat, its resources, its natural and
environmental potential, and build on these to define the direction of development and the
cornerstones on which to base this activity. In the Szigetköz-Csallóköz geographical area
too, it is precisely on the basis of these available natural and environmental assets that
development directions can be defined, and focal areas for economic and/or social
development can be identified, which will enable the area to form a dynamic, outstanding
unit
