Structure and functioning of the Hungarian Scientific Society/Hungarian Academy of Sciences - Historical and international overview on the occasion of the bicentenary of its foundation

Abstract

In this paper, we review the structure and specific features of the national, i.e. non-regional, academies
of some European and non-European countries, comparing them with the structure and functioning
of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. We also take into account some academies and scientific
societies that are not or have not been classified as national.
